It is designed to get views and opinions from local people on how land to the east of Luton could be developed to benefit all in the local community. It is just one element of a consultation programme of public exhibitions and workshops which will take place over the coming months.
The area under discussion lies on the eastern edge of Luton, bounded by the A505 to the north, by agricultural land to the east and by Wandon End to the south. Luton Airport lies to the south-west.
The area has been highlighted as an area for possible development in two studies; the approved sub-regional strategy for the area, and the emerging Luton and South Bedfordshire Core Strategy.
No decisions have been made about what could or should happen in the area. You can find information here about how the consultation will inform the planning process, helping decide how various elements such as jobs, community services and homes could together create a balanced, sustainable community.
It's crucial that local people have an opportunity to take part in the decisions which will shape the future of the area. As well as providing information and updates on the consultation as it progresses, including the feedback received, this website allows you to contribute in a number of ways. You can call our hotline number on 0845 602 2807, email us or fill out a feedback form online.
You can also view answers to queries which have been made by other people, as well as ask your own questions.
All the information received throughout the consultation period will be collated and inform any proposals that may be brought forward.
The consultation is being carried out on behalf of Bloor Homes. You can find more information about the company here.
